Autumn 2010

The Monday Unit will be meeting back for the Autumn term on Monday 13th September 2010. We will be meeting from 19:45 at the 52nd Scout hall behind South Woodford Library.

Kandersteg, Switzerland 2009

51 people consisting of members from the District Network, Explorers, Scouts and Cubs embarked on a journey of discovery to land of swiss cheese and Toblerones.  The group enjoyed several hikes within the mountains, with a small group partaking in a workshop on glacier walking and ice climbing. Visits during the week included:
Trümmelbach Waterfalls (link), Jungfraujoch – highest railway station in Europe (link), Kleine Scheidegg (link), Alpine Lake Swim (link).
Hikes included:
Overnight Lötschenpass Hike (link), Snow and Ice combo (link), Three Valleys Hike (link) and part of the Gemmipass Hike (link).
An incredible and unforgettable trip was enjoyed by all those who embarked on this memorable journey into the heart of the Swiss Alpes.
